Dogfooding Syllabi

I gave this talk at the Lilly Conference, the premier teaching conference in the US. I was inspired to put together this slide deck after my experience doing academic coaching with college students who struggled with executive functioning. Getting the student perspective reminds me of this article about dogfooding assignments. I’m especially proud of the “three modes, one system” slide (#12), in which I try to demonstrate how confusing it is for students to interface with varied ways in which faculty communicate information about their courses.
